  • I'm sure the hospital will do all they can to keep you safe over the next three weeks Silver but I just wanted to wish you good luck and let you know we'll be thinking of you.

Let us know how you're getting on when you can.

    Kind regards,

  • Just to wish you luck with your treatment Silver. You have been through so much.

Can quite see your concerns regarding covid but I imagine the hospital will be taking every precaution.

    Go well and go safe.

  • Hi Silverdays, thought I would message as I had my planning meeting done couple weeks ago.  At the hospital entrance I was met by a nurse who took my temperature.  ALL the nurses had masks on.  I was taken to the CT department where threre was only one other patient waiting.   As I entered the room, the masked nurses were wiping everything down.  Oh they also phoned me the day before to make sure I had already drunk my water so that there would  be no waiting around.  They really do just want you in and out ASAP.  I start my first of 25 radiotherapies tomorrow!  Good luck with yours.

  • Yes, thank you. Just got to get through the radiotherapy, it's an hour each way to the hospital for 3 weeks Mon - Fri.

But it's 3 weeks out of my life if it helps to mend me. My GP is keen for me to start the hormone medication. I'm thinking it would be better after the radiotherapy as how will I know which treatment is causing any side effects I might have?  I don't know what drug it will be as waiting for prescription from hospital, I'm HER2 neg.

I feel I've come a long way since diagnosed in Oct 2019 and hoping I have a restart  from all this treatment soon.

Added stress of the Virus as well. To quote our Queen, a year of Annus Horribilus!

  • Oh please stay in touch, be interesting to compare our treatment. Thank you for letting me know,  it seems they will take every precaution to keep us safe as we are vulnerable . At least our treatment has not been delayed.

  • Hi Silver, all the best for today at the hospital.  I mentioned drinking the water as I am having pelvic radiotherapy, so I'm not sure you will need to do that as your treatment is for a different area. But still 25 treatments every day for 5 weeks. One step closer. x

  • Hi, I started pelvic radiotherapy today for 5 weeks too.

I think the hospitals have got it covered re covid. Tesco feels a more likely place to catch it for me.

    stay safe x

  • Hi Copperpot2208. How are you doing? I actually start mine tomorrow. Have you had yours today? How was it??? And if you don't mind me asking more questions, have you had any other treatment, what was your diagnosis? Mine is endometrial cancer. Please stay in touch as I haven't come across anyone else at same stage as me. Thank you so much and take care x

  • Hi, yes I've had it this morning. It was all fine. I just had to drink my water, wait 40 mins and then had it. Was over very quickly. Don't feel a thing. Tomorrow I start chemotherapy too.  Just once a week.

I've got cervical cancer. Stage 1b2. It's spread a little into my vagina hence no hysterectomy.

I had a lletz treatment last month which removed some cells which were then sent for biopsy.

Will you be having chemo too? X

  • Forgot to say I'm also have internal radiotherapy after the 5 weeks thing. That's. 2/3 day stay in hospital I've been told x
