If oncologist advise no treatment then I agree

I have been hearing all sort of rumours about oncology not treating people. I have read a few on here.i am sorry but I have lung cancer of my oncologist said to me I advise no treatment then I would take his advice. They do not make decisions like this lightly. If you have not yet had chemotherapy. Let me tell you it strips away the bad but also the good, leaving you immisupressed. Leaving your body open to the slightest infection. You would literally be a good candidate for Covid 19 which by the way the chances of survival is pretty slim after chemotherapy. Now I know without treatment I will die even though I know that I fully respect any oncologist decision of no treatment. Not for a second do I believe that the decision not to treat goes against everything they believe in. The hyacrstic oath the doctors havd taking it done in the long term interest of patients. I can see some people saying I will take my chances. That's all well and good until by having treatment and suddenly you have covid 19 who would you blame . The oncologist of course you would be saying why didn't we Delay treatment. So those that feel cheated the oncologist can not Win either way

  • Hi marj58,

We understand your concerns about undergoing chemotherapy during these uncertain times, and how treatment may make you more susceptible to covid-19. We have some helpful information on these issues on our website which can be found here.

People should continue to follow the advice of their doctors and specialists, and of course discuss any concerns with them as appropriate.

    All the best,
