Oh I know..I couldn't believe it.I was in the scanner for an hour which is slightly longer than my usual scans but the images were so poor that one of the Drs at the other hospital who were trying to review the scans asked if I had got up and gone home halfway through the scan ..

They did say they would review the second scan asap but that's now been almost 8 weeks so I'm about done being patient.

You're quite right. Most breast scans results are available within a week - two at the most.

I agree that they could take a little longer now with Covid 19, but these were carried out ages before lockdown even started!

Thank you @Jolamine I'm actually getting used to it now...I have decided if this scan is good then this will be my last scan. I've been doing this for over 10 years now and a 4 month wait for scan results is not acceptable.

I have looked into getting private scans but so far have been unable to find anywhere that I would be comfortable with.

Many thanks for your kind Easter wishes. I hope that you had a Happy Easter too and that you have enjoyed the lovely weather that we've had over the weekend. I fully agree that a 4 month wait for results is totally unacceptable.

I do hope that your GP can come up trimps tomorrow! It might also be worth asking him/her for a recommendation about the best place to go for a private scan.

Hello..just wanted to update this.

I logged into my GP portal yesterday and the results were on there. The scan was finally read last week and the CNS had written to the GP with the results.I presume I will get my copy in the post today.

They did apologise for the length of time it took but they said the scan was sent off site to be read. 

They have advised I have a new set of scans in the summer.
