  • Hi Harley

How far up north? I live in West Yorkshire. I'm 53 and Covid has made me redundant! I'm a graphic designer. What was your nursing specialism in?

  • Hi Freddie

i live in Bolton greater Manchester i was medically retired from nursing 2 yrs ago not because of the cancers spent 28yrs as a Registered Nurse in every speciality besides gyne and oncology spent 8 yrs in the US as well i worked to live but as i had MRSA in both lungs which could not be cured i was forced into retirement. As you can imagine have lots of ex collegues lots of unrest as like me they know the truth especially now with covid they are deeply distressed at the media and total fear they are spreading. So sorry you lost your job because of this virus could not imagine the economic effect as a whole to people live this has had. The worst thing is when covid started they begged me to return ( obviously couldnt because of the cancers and treatment ) so i was no longer a danger to my patients. you couldnt make this up. I love all around and in Yorkshire got engaged many moons ago in Skipton oh the memories. Stay strong Freddie don't give up keep your mood and strength high i have already booked a holiday nxt yr it might not be pulled of but it's cetainly a way of looking forward

  • Hi Harley

I know it's been a while since we talked - I wondered how you are doing? My partner passed away a few months after we last talked and I was told my kidney cancer had spread not long after that. Multiple nodules initially in my right lung. It's been a pretty bad time. I've been having regular scans to monitor the growth in my lungs. At the most recent scan results appointment they have said they want to put me on treatment, after the next scan, as one of the mets has grown to 2cm.

It would be nice to hear how you're doing.
