Hello ,new to this forum so forgive me if this has been asked before .
my dad has been diagnosed with throat cancer and superficial oesophageal cancer ,he started to have problems this time last year so was referred to the hospital who have among other things lost his paperwork and dismissed his symptoms .
finally they diagnosed throat cancer and he was given 30 sessions of radiation which finished the middle of Oct..he was able to eat small portions of food up until the 4th week when suddenly was unable to eat or drink orally so everything is being administered through his stomach,he can't even swallow his own spit ,he's coughing up flem constantly.
he has just been admitted to hospital to try and open up the oesophagas using a balloon but they can't get any tubes down at all ,so was sent home again .
so what I'm really enquiring about has anyone heard or had similar problems and is there any hope of achieving this ever being rectified or this is it until the end .
thankyou in advance for any advice
Debby
