Hospital visit for simulation - may lose sight due to tumour

Well, had my first visit last Tuesday for simulation. They were very nice and talked me through the whole thing! Making the mask and mouthpiece etc. The mask was fine but a little uncomfortable when I had to lean forward and bite on the mouthpiece! I think it's becaus I am only 5 ft nothing and it made my neck ache!

Then I saw the doctor and he explained that as my tumour was so near the optic nerve, I may lose some central sight.

I have asked them to try and save my eyelashes as I hate not wearing mascara. You men may think "silly cow" but it's important to me and I am sure the ladies will understand!

I have had my liver scan and heard nothing, so I presume that no news is good news!

  • I'm glad your first visit went well Mazzer although I'm sorry that you may lose some sight.

Hopefully some of our members who have been on this journey will be along soon to offer their support and share their advice and experiences with you but if you ever want to talk things through with someone then our cancer nurses are just a phone call away on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We'll have our fingers crossed your liver scan results bring good news when they come back Mazzer.

    Kind regards,
