Raised CA125 - so so worried about my Mum

I couldn't make my Mum's last consultant appt as I was really ill & now I'm devastated.

Everything had been ticking along well after her surgery and chemo but at the one appt I couldn't make, she's been told that her blood levels are up and she needs to go for a CT scan. She also has a lump that's come up and pain in the area where we know there is residule cancer.

I'm trying to stay positive but as I didn't have a chance to ask questions, I'm wondering what this could all mean. It doesn't sound great ......

  • Hello MonPetiteFleur
I'm sorry to hear that you've been unwell and that your Mum has been told she needs some additional tests. It's understandable that you're feeling concerned.

I wonder, does Mum have a specialist nurse or a point of contact at the hospital? If so it may be that she could speak to them and ask if they could speak to you  directly with her permission.

If this isn't an option then presumably your Mum will have a follow up appointment after her CT scan which you may be able to attend.

We know that waiting for tests and results can be a difficult time but hopefully Mum won't have to wait too long for her appointments. In the meantime try to stay positive.

    Best wishes,
