Inoperable/incurable stomach cancer

Hi

My mother in law recently got diagnosed with inoperable/incurable stomach cancer. She is halfway through a 6 stage chemotherapy and latest scan shows it's stopped the small spreading but the tumour itself hasn't changed. We just want any sort of insight into what this means going forward? Will she live a normal life and for how long ie months, years, decades?

She also uses black oil if anyone has a informed opinion on that too? Is it as I've read up or a fad?

  • Hi Bradcity,

Welcome to Cancer Chat, although I'm sorry to read about your mother in law - I hope you're getting on OK.

Unfortunately no-one here can really advise on your question - it's only her doctor or consultant who can do this. I would encourage you to find out as much as you can from them so you can be as informed as possible.

In terms of your second question, it's also best to discuss this with her doctor. We have a section on our website about complementary and alternative therapies here which you may find useful.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
