New treatment

I have been having treatment for almost 5 years now, for secondary cancer. Have had Letrazole then back to Tamoxifen after that stopped working. Have also been having Denosumab  injections monthly for bones .Now my latest scan has shown new spread to liver, nodes and lung so have started on Ribociclib and Fulvestrant . Have been suffering with nausea which seems to be a side effect with many treatments. Is anyone on this treatment? Wonder how other people cope with it. The oncologist tells me it has good results.  Eileen P

    HI Eileen,

I'm so sorry that you have been battling secondary breast cancer for almost 5 years. Nausea seems to be a problem with most of the medication you mention. Have you been prescribed something to reduce this? There are a number of different products on the market, so, if the one you're currently taking is not working, ask your care team to prescribe something else.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine,

it's very wearing, feel I have to try but I feel worn down with not feeling well. I have been taking Cyclazine since my brain op 5 years ago and something different has been prescribed  so I have tried both since being on the new treatment . 2 weeks in so early days,  sure the weather warming up may help.! Not a winter person.

    thanks for your support

    Hi Eileen,

If you've only had the new treatment for 2 weeks, try to perservere a little longer, but if the nausea continues contact your care team or GP for different anti nausea meds.

I can fully understand how you feel, but hope that you are listening to your body and resting as and when you need to.

I'm not a winter person either. I could happily hibernate for the winter months and return again in spring - animals have the right idea!

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
