Hi, sorry to jump on. This isn't about me but my mum. She's always suffered from extremely heavy periods, finally led her to go for a check up, sent for an ultrasound and because of covid she had to go in on her own and in her words they ambushed her she thought she was just going in for results but they wanted to do a biopsy now she came out disorientated (she obviously didn't have the biopsy she is terrified of needles and a prude when it comes to anyone seeing her privates even made the woman who was doing her ultrasound give her the wand to insert it herself) anyway she didn't really make sense about where this suspicion came from she says there's something on her womb but I don't think she's sure herself. She's having very irregular periods extremely heavy to the point where she doesn't move when she's on her period, bleeding after sex, pain we've tried everything from making appointments for her to getting into big arguments with her trying to get her to make another appointment but she's stubborn. Finally she agreed to do an at home HPV test which she bled immediately after doing and said she was very sore. I put for the results to go to my email and phone number because I know she'd hide it and pretend everything was fine, and the results have come back hpv type 16 positive. Could this mean it was originally in her womb and it's spread to her cervix? I'm not sure what to think about it? It seems to me given everything it's definitely cancer when you put it all together. It's her birthday today I got the results today and I won't be telling her until tomorrow. How do I break the news? And she has 4 daughters including me we're all very stubborn like her so I will be booking an appointment tomorrow on her behalf because otherwise she'll just let it spread and go through so much pain in the end rather than find out and have a full hysterectomy and it be over with. Am I wrong for making these choices for her? Because I know me and my sisters really couldn't live a life without her. We only have her.
