Hi , i have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time but this time it has spread to my chest cavity, muscle wall lymph nodes and bones.
I have just spent the last week in hospital due to having a large fluid build up on my right lung. I had a drain inserted and had this drain changed about 4 times. I had a pleuradesis procedure before they took the drain away. I saw my surgeon the same day I was discharged from hospital. He is the same surgeon i had last time so I trust him completely. But I did feel that he didnt answer my questions. I gave him the discharge note which had a lot of frightening stuff on it but he wasnt very specific about what it said.
Im seeing my oncologist monday so hopefully he can answer those questions. They told me at the hospital it had spread to my bones but couldnt answer any questions as there were no cancer specialists there.
I just feel very confused and frustrated. I have gone through treatment before. Lumpectomy, sentinel node biopsy, 6 round of chemo, auxiliary clearance and 20 rads. That cancer was oestrogen positive in my right side. This time its triple negative in both breasts with the above spreading. How does that happen?
I would like to be more specific with my answers for the kids. I have a 19 year old and a 14 year old. They were younger last time and understand a lot more this time. There are so many things in the air. We are very strong as a family so will go through it again together. I never thought I would be in this situation again.
