Trying to find a post chemo balance

Hey everyone I was just looking for a little bit of advice. I've just had chemo number 4. After chemo 2 I was extremely nauseous and they changed my anti sickness meds. The new ones make me so tired if I'm not sleeping I'm just lying on the sofa like a big cabbage. I try to pull myself together but I just can't. Even small things like having a bath just take all of my energy. I've got a 6 month old baby and it's breaking me that I can't spend any quality time with her. Does anybody have any helpful words of wisdom.

before anybody says yes I've spoken to my nurses. Yes I know she won't remember and yes I know I need to think it's only for a short while. It just doesn't help when you're in the thick of it.

  • Hi Lila29

Deep breath. You are doing an amazing job. There's not many new Mum's who would be coping with everything that you've had thrown at you.
It's good that you're talking to your nurse about things. They should be able to continue to monitor and adjust your meds if necessary.
I'm not sure I have any words of advice that I can share but I would say if this was a friend of yours what would you say to her? Keep leaning on those around you. Keep talking and reaching out for support. Don't be afraid to ask for help where you can.

Sending best wishes to you Lila.
