Anyone wondering wether to have a picc line, I think there brilliant, saves every time you go for your chemotherapy not to keep having the canular put in as sometimes these can be painful. It's done while your awake, not painful at all x
I can second this :) I will admit I had my doubts about the process but the procedure took a mere 20 minutes and most of that was prep time. As someone who is terrible to draw blood from (once took them two hours to get a vein) this has saved both myself and the cancer team hours of poking and prodding.
I was unfortunate to get a clot along my vein shortly after it being inserted but I'm on blood thinners and the line is still viable, they are very happy to use it and so am I :)
