Womb cancer

I was diagnosed with Womb Cancer in July. Had a Hysterectomy in August and 18 Lymph Nodes removed 3 tested positive for Cancer. I am now awaiting Chemo and Radiotherapy.

  • Hi I've just seen your post and wondered how you got on at your gynaecology appointment?
I had a hysterectomy last week for endometrial cancer.

Hope things are ok for you x

  • Hi

Thanks for getting in touch. The appointment last Wednesday was ok, they found what they think is a polyp in my uterus, I'm booked in to have it removed in a couple of weeks. They also discovered a small cyst on my ovary but said it doesn't look concerning.

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, hope you are recovering well and coping ok.

What were your symptoms? Did you have polyps?

  • Hi

i had heavy bleeding and clots that caused anemia, a USS showed a large mass, I had a hysteroscopy to biopsy the mass , they found a polyp too but I think that was ok. The histology took about 5 weeks to come back, and it will be similar for that from my hysterectomy, services are so backlogged at the moment that things are taking longer. Don't know if you had an USS at the appointment but they seem good at picking up possibilities, my mass was identified as not looking like a fibroid and possibly but not probably a cancer. Are you having a hysteroscopy to remove your polyp , if so is it 7nder GA ?

I'm recovering ok thanks, a bit tearful/ emotional and sore but I think that's to be expected .

Take care , good luck and let me know how you get on xx

  • Hi,

Thanks for your message. They did a vaginal scan and the dr was quite confident that it's a polyp causing the trouble. I'm waiting for my womb biopsy results, it's awful waiting isn't it...I have my appointment on the 16th for a hysteroscopy, I think they are doing it with local, is that what you had? I'm feeling ok about it now and thankfully the bleeding stopped after 15 days.

It's nice to be in touch with someone who has gone through it, I'm glad you've had your op and are recovering ok. It must have been a huge shock, I can emphasize, it is very scary! The good news is womb cancer is very treatable when caught early. Once you get your histology report you will feel better and a clear plan will be made about any future treatment you may need. Take it easy and always happy to chat xx

  • Hi JWO,

I am diagnosed with grade 2 stage 2 endometrial cancer. But the doctor did not perform lymph node sampling. Did your doctor check your lymph nodes?

Hope you are on the right track of thr treatment now.

    Best wishes

    Chui

  • Hi Chui - yes, I had pelvic lymph nodes removed. I think that is standard for stage 3. They were all clear as it happens. With what I know now, I would have chosen not to have them removed, maybe a small sampling. I am following an integrative oncology pathway and am confident that with the right support, the lymphatic system can clear out rogue cancer cells without surgical removal.

  • Thank you JWO. Your reply helps me feel more confident in my coming treatment. Hope we are all happy and well now and later.

    Best wishes,

    Chui

  • Hi Bernie, I know this an old thread. I'm new here and going through similar to you. Can I ask how you got on please. I tried to inbox you privately but I needed to add you as a friend first which I have done. Hope everyone is doing okay
