Head shave tomorrow. I was being so ‘brave’ but now that the day has come I’m drowning my sorrows in gin and avoiding bedtime. Life really sucks sometimes.

Hi saldo, if you're having cemotheropy gin can make things worse, unless your loosing your hair you don't need to trim not everyone looses it it depends on treatment plan, what's wrong anyway........ Billy
Hi Billy, thanks for your reply. About half of my hair has already fallen out & my second chemo is next week. I have ovarian cancer and almost all people who have this chemo (taxol) experience hair loss so I don’t think there’s any way to avoid it unfortunately. I don’t drink very much generally but have quite a sore head today after a few drinks last night so no more alcohol on chemo for me!
Hi saldo i can't guarantee thar still on forum but i found [@Abir91], [@anonymous], and [@joanne3146] hope they help you.. Billy
I'm still here, I don't think I can help as I haven't experienced Chemo personally.
im so sorry you're going through this. My aunt has stage 3 OC and she's having chemo at the moment. It's hard and drinking probably won't help but I totally get why you're doing it. Hang in there you can fight this and your hair will come back
have you looked into wigs? I know some people like them and some would rather not.
much love to you at this terrible time xxx
Hi Joanne, I think we chatted before - nice to hear from you! Thank you [@Billygoat] for the links. Fortunately, I had a couple of wigs and lots of ‘chemo caps’ ready as I knew I was going to shave my head at some point. You know, it wasn’t that bad in the end and I’m kinda liking my ‘edgy’ look now lol. Wouldn’t brave it in public though so the wigs are taking a bit of getting used to! I was able to donate some hair to a charity too so at least it didn’t go to waste. How did your tests turn out Joanne? Are you doing okay? xx
Yes we have spoken before :)
bless you that's lovely you were able to donate your hair!
im sure you're rocking the edgy look! It does suit so many people!
They think I have adenomyosis. But I don't have heavy painful periods or irregular bleeding so I don't know. Only cure for that is hysterectomy. They've put me on pygesterone only pill contraception to manage the symptoms but it's just making me so much worse. Now I do have painful irregular bleeding and I'm also so hormonally angry and sad at the same time all the time. I can't cope with feeling this way :( I have to wait for three months before they'll do anything else
thank you for asking, I don't have many people asking how I am at the moment so that sucks too.
So sorry you up and down with treatment as you say it sucks but big time, hope it wears off slightly over time,, best wishes for the future,... Billy
P.s sorry just noticed you you can smack me if you want??? "
Hi Joanne, apologies for the late reply. Sorry to hear that you are still having a difficult time of it. Obviously great that it’s not the big C, but it’s not nice being in pain & not feeling yourself. Hopefully you’ll get the solution you need in few months time. Be kind to yourself in the meantime and if you need to vent, I’m happy to listen.
Thank you!
I stopped the pill and I feel so much better mentally which is great and the bleeding has finally stopped! I'm still having pain though and I'm really struggling to get hold of my gyne clinic.
ive now got the worry of my stomach. I've had problems for years but this past year something will trigger it off and it's absolute agony. I'm on medication but it's not working so I need a scan and an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I'm thinking maybe my bloatedness is down to this problem and the adenomyosis was a separate issue. I'm terrified it's cancer as all my symptoms fit. I had to go a&e when I went to my doctors on weds due to high blood pressure and fast pulse, I saw the gastric surgeon and he's done all the referrals for me and he was shocked that the gp hadn't done it sooner. Two weeks and I've been in constant pain I can't eat without it going straight through me. It's just one thing after the other!
how are you doing? What stage in treatment are you at now?
much love xx
Hi Joanne, so sorry for the late reply. I’ve only just seen your last post. Are you feeling any better now or at least closer to finding out what’s causing the symptoms you’ve been having?
I’m doing okay thanks, just had chemo number 5 of 6 so just one more to go. Fingers crossed that it’s working!
Christmas is proving to be a good distraction at the moment!
