  • Take care be good to yourself, its a tough journey I also had similar, the Radiotherapy did its job clearing up what was left behind  not much taste now an bad reflux  due to sylviary glands gone haven't been able to eat the way I used to 11 years later but I have had to adapt, still, choke easily, I know my limits, 5 years after my initial ľ surgery sn treatment on mouth neck throat an tongue also maximum Radiofhedapy 3 small CANCER DEPOSITS REMOVED FROM MY NECK,  I now live with knowing the cancer in my tongue spread metasized to my lungs hence they might have to start chemo around December getting breathless but thankful I'm  coping an still enjoying life, praying for all, its amazing how we all cope when we have no choice.

    God Bless

  • Hi Bellaray, I hope all is well? I'm thinking of you.

I was just wondering if you could advise me. I've had pain at the left back of my tongue, jaw and neck with ear pain and several reactive lymph nodes over a year period under my jaw and in my left collarbone. I was just wondering if your base of tongue cancer was HPV related?

I had a squamous cell papilloma removed from the back of my throat last year (benign) but feel I have the symptoms of HPV base of tongue cancer. Ive had the camera down, an MRI scan and 2 ultrasounds. Ive requested biopsies but the lymph nodes are too small to biopsy and there is no visual abnormality so doctors are saying there's nothing to biopsy and they would if they could.

I understand tour diagnosis was a long process and would be interested in hearing your symptoms, how it was diagnosed (how did they know what to take a biopsy of if there was no visual abnormality) and what did your treatment consist of, did you have part of your tongue removed.

I really hope to hear from you, take care
