Endometrial cancer

Hi,

im new to his chat room. My mum has been diagnosed last Oct with stage 4 - too late for surgery - had 8 chemos but cancer spread so about to start a harsher course of 18 chemos - this time she’ll lose hair - mum74 - still young - her problem is painful toilets - had constipation so took Dukalax but very sore inside - pain killers not taking away the pain when going to toilet - the cancer not in bowel but Mum thinks cancer pressing on bowel - this soreness is really stopping her getting up and out - has anyone experienced same and how coped?

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Cookies although I'm sorry to read about your mum.

If the current painkillers aren't working do be sure to let her medical team know as they may be able to provide something else that will be more effective. Do encourage your mum to discuss her thoughts about the cancer possibly pressing on the bowel as well as her medical team will be able to look in to this and let her know what is going on.

I really hope you'll hear from some of our members soon but do be sure to have a go at using the 'search forum' option in the blue bar above to find other discussions to join in on and chat with others in similar situations.

Our cancer nurses are available for a chat on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m if you'd like to discuss this with them as well.

Wishing your mum all the best with her next lot of chemo.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi - thank you for your kind words.  Mum has talked about her pain and rumour pressing on bladder but she feels they are not taking her serious she has morphine but side effects could be constipation, which is not what she wants.  All very difficult - she’s been in pain for 5 weeks been to oncology and own doctor and still in pain

she had the first of 16 chemo treatments today so we’ll see how this makes her feel.

    Thanks.
