Hi

Hi everyone, this is my first post here. My wife was diagnosed with an inoperable Stage 4 ACC cancer last on March 2018 so as you all know this has changed our life completely. Since then we have seen a lot of oncologist and search for a treatment that can answer our questions and give us some hope. Thanks God we found it in Pavia-Italy and on June last year she started her 16 sessions that went successely well resulting in a none cancer activity after her fourth MRI follow up...but unfortunately that cancer treatment has left some physical and emotional side effects that we are facing day after day. We knew that life we would never be the same after she was diagnosed but even knowing that some times you fell like you are no prepared at all. My wife is seeing a pain doctor trying to find the right medication that can help her copying with the pain from the radiotherapy inflammation, she is also seeing a psychologist to help with the doubts and uncertainty. We are trying to overcome from this horrible and scary moment of our lives and it will certainly happen but we know that we need to be patient and we need help so right now I would like to know if anyone could suggest a physiologist that could see us as a couple and help us with our fears? We believe that making our relationship stronger could help us a lot. (We are in London)

 Thanks

  • Hi Ticosilverio and welcome to the forum.

I'm really glad to read that the treatment has been successful although I'm sorry about the physical and emotional impact it has had.

We have a section on our website about counselling which I hope will point you in the right direction for finding someone to help you work through this but it might be a good idea to see your GP as well as they may be able to provide your with some recommendations in your local area. Relate offer relationship counselling so this may be another avenue for you to explore as well.

I hope you're able to get the support you're seeking so you can start making your relationship stronger.

    Best wishes to you both,
