  • Hi Jackie

So pleased the oncology appointment went well. Will the consultant support you regarding the tablets? Hope you are successful with that.

Whats next after the bone scan, did you have a mammogram today? My oncology appointment is 16th January, already had DEXAscan.

Lots of love from Mary xxx

  • Hi Mary,

    I don't think you have a mammogram until it's been a year?
It's interesting how these tablets work, mine would only give me 30% help with suppressing the oestrogen....and my chances of it recurring even not taking the tablets is 2%!! So now it's so I take them or not?
No more appointments after Dexa Scan until February when I see the surgeon,so it's go it alone lol

    Much love xxx

  • Hi Jackie

I saw an article on the BBC health page last week about how good Anastrazole is and it is very effective. Still works years after stopping taking it so I'm happy to be on that. Apart from some joint aches I am doing ok on it.

Will be glad to see the oncologist and see what he says going forward.

We will both have a lovely Christmas ️ xx

  • Hi Mary,

I was so shocked and surprised as to how little they suppress the oestrogen etc after it all,and was surprised how low my recurrence would be to get again in my boob!!
Oncoligist said the main cause of breast cancer is genetic and age related, getting older!!

So it's down to thinking seriously about it all now as to which way do I go forward..... I may possibly still write to CCG about my situation re Femara..... needs some deep thinking about but chuffed at the % results and of course who knows god forbid it appears elsewhere.....

Yes a Happy Christmas for us xxxx

  • Hi Jackie77,

Great news for you, so pleased it went well.

You are in the same position I am as to whether leave things alone now. Or follow up with 5yrs tablets, I think I've made my decision not to have anymore treatment or tablets just regular checkups as I haven't had an Radiotherapy, If by any chance it came back I could then have radiotherapy ️ ️
If you need any help with petition/ letters supporting the need for all women to get the medication thats needed no matter where they live. Just ask I'll be happy to put my name down.

Happy Christmas to you & your family

Mary Happy Christmas to you too xx

  • Hi Angel,

Thank you so much,it was another hurdle climbed over!

Im thinking I will write to the CCG as it's unbelievable that they are giving ladies who have been through a tough emotional time to be fobbed off with cheap tablets to save money and sod the side effects they have to suffer.....

I had 20 sessions of radiotherapy the last 5 were exactly where the tumour had been so it's time for a real think but I'm definitely not taking the rubbish ones to make me more ill.....

To celebrate have booked a 2 weeks cruise with my bestie in March,no Hubby's allowed lol

Here's to a happy healthy Christmas and myself and Mary always around for a chat!!

    love xxx

  • Hi there you two. Just got back from our camera club Christmas party. It's a fun evening with a great quiz, raffle and lovely buffet. Won a bottle of Prosecco so very happy . Yes always here for a chat.

Love the sound of the cruise,  Sounds just the job. I'm taking no chances and sticking with the Anastrazole. Very few side effects and nothing I can't put up with for peace of mind.

Happy Christmas to you both xx

  • Hi Mary,

I may well be on mine if the CCG respond but can't take risks with my MS if I have to take generic brands as I will end up bed bound and on high doses of steroids..... so watch this space lol

Do love a cruise,2 booked already for next year!!

Well done on winning the Prosecco,I'm having a nice glass of red tonight.

I am sure we will chat again before SANTA comes.

    love xxx

  • Hi Jackie fingers crossed that the CCG will agree to your meds.

Have never been on a cruise, we might give it a try one day!

Just had a glass of Amaretto with a coffee and mince pie

    Sleep tight and speak soon

    Love Mary xx
