AC Chemotherapy

Hi

I had my first chemo on Monday. My appointment was at 9.30 and I didn’t get to start until 5 and a half hours later. I had to keep asking what the hold up was and I was told the the medication was not ready yet. It was very stressful, as I had psyched myself up for this da and was quite calm and relaxed when I got to the hospital. By the Time i left i was very stressed and tired.

I tried the cold cap but only lasted 10 minutes. After 5 minutes istarted to get a headache. It was very cold and heavy. I rather lose my Hair.

I have been sick nearly every day and I’m making myself eat to keep my strength up. I hope the sickness and nausea felling will stop soon.

Apart from that I so far have no pain. My temperature was 37.3 this morning, close to the crucial 37.5 when i was told i needed to ring the hospital. It has since gone down again.

if anybody out there has any tips how to get rid of the nausea, they would be very much appreciated.

That’s all for now folks.

  • Hi cilly,

Oncologist or Dr should put you on stronger meds to help with feeling or being sick, does your food taste like cardboard yet, keep away from bio yoghurt, cheese and grapefruit, they can make you sick very easily, don't worry about your hair it'll grow back mines better than before keep at it and good luck... • Hi Billygoat

Thanks for your reply. Took one of the stronger tablets today called Ondansetron. They said only to take it if necessary. So far so good. Have not been sick since. I even had something to eat and it still tastes like food. What’s up with grapefruit? Why is it not good? How long before the vomiting and nausea stops?
