Trying to stay positive

My name is Simon. In March after many visits to casualty i was finally diagonised with Sacacoma, Massive surgury and then knowledge that the cancer spread to my lungs leaves me in hospital going through Chemo.

My first cycle was rough but then an infection in my operated leg and then a nurse that caught my nerve in my bicep which has left me with a damaged bicep muscle that doesnt work properly.

Im just not getting a break, my depression deepenes , im only 50 with a wife i love and children that need me, how do people remain positive, ive got multiple rounds of chemo to do and hopefully respond well, i just need a chance and ill fight to survive.

Thank you for your time

  • Hi there ..

Know it's like climbing a mountain only harder ... cancer wants you to buckle .. and give in ... we've all been there .. but it's about getting all your feelings and fears out ... and then getting back in the cancer boxing ring ... and looking it in the eye .. and hitting it back ...

No one knows if they have tomorrow.... anyone could be gone ... so try and live in the day .. take on one problem at a time .. no "what ifs"  and when you feel low and that cancer knocks you on the ropes ... look around... wer all in that same ring ... together wer strong ...

So hold on in there .. your NOT alone ...  Chrissie x
