Triple negative breast cancer

I have triple negative invasive ductal  breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy and axillary node clearance. The cancer had spread to 3 lymph nodes. The tumour was 22 mm. I had the operation in May. The cancer is stage 3 grade 3. Due to many other illnesses I have decided not to have any further treatment, no chemotherapy and no radiotherapy. I feel that my body just cannot take anymore. I am currently waiting for results of the bone scan. The long term outlook is not the best even with treatment. Has anyone had similar and survived without any further treatment? I just need an idea of how long generally I will live for. I have researched so much and realise the statistics, by having chemotherapy it only increases my chances by between 6 & 8 percent over 15 years, that was what my oncologist said, he used the NHS predict to tell me the statistics.

  • Hi Alex,

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anyone that stopped treatment, but I have found some ladies who also have triple negative breast cancer so I'm just going to tag them in this post in case you wanted to discuss your situation with them. They are [@Gill71]‍, [@mumof3angels]‍, [@Anxciouslady]‍, [@rach2018]‍ and hopefully they will pop by when they can.

In regards to survival stats, I'd recommend having a chat with our cancer nurses who are available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope this helps Alex and wish you all the best with your bone scan results.

    Kind regards,
