  • Hi Cream, totally agree with Chrissy that although its scary, you have to fight. Cancer is the bully at school and if all us nice kids stick together.......Wishing both the very best.

    Hi Creamlegbar,

Welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry to hear about the reason that you've joined us for. This really is a double whammie.

As Chrissie has told you, I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 10 years. I also lost my Mum to secondary breast cancer 21 years ago. She developed metastases in her liver, lungs, brain and bone.

Fortunately, diagnosis, treatment and after care have all improved substantially since then and, there is just no comparison in the care that she had and that which I have experienced.

I developed my second bout of cancer a year after I had my lumpectomy and I had a double mastectomy at that stage. At that time I changed from Tamoxifen to Letrozole. Have you been told what type and grade of breast cancer your wife has? This will determine the type of treatment she has. I presume, with her starting chemo so soon, that they are trying to reduce the size of the lesion before surgery. Have they told her how many sessions of chemo she is going to have?

It is devastating to be hit by another cancer, when she has been doing well with her CNS Lymphoma. The main thing that your wife needs now is a positive attitude and, it is not always easy to dredge that up, with so many uncertainties attached to this latest diagnosis, but, with your help and support it will come. It will also get a little easier once she starts her treatment and starts to actively fight it.

Do please keep in touch and let us know how you are both getting on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine

  • Hi

she has stage 3 triple negative breast cancer, such a relief treatment starting tomorrow, has seemed to be waiting an eternity, all the time you wait, you think it's getting worse and worse. Thanks for your kind words, we are determined to beat this one, as we did the other

    Hi Creamlegbar,

Waiting always feels like an eternity, but she's almost there.

I hope that all goes well for her tomorrow and, that you will beat this once again.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine
