Hi Fiona, this does happen after radiotherapy.  We bought something called Igloo, most chemist's sell it, paint it on and it covers the ulcers. I used plain vaseline lotion on my husband's targeted area, every morning and before bed, wear cotton as its a natural fibre and will let the skin breathe.  Hope these little tips helps.  Carol x
