Hello Tingk,
I hope you won't mind but I've added 'for identification of breast cancer' in the title - hopefully this will make it a little more specific and easier to spot for some of our members who may have been in a similar situation.
I hope that others who have had this marker clip omitted during the biopsy will be along shortly to share their experience with you. Out of curiosity, I've had a look to see if this had previously been discussed on the forum and I found this thread by [@Feastwood] who asked about these marker clips before and our nurse's reply may well be of interest to you.
If you want to talk about this to our nurses, you are also very welcome to give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
Best wishes,

Hello Tink
just saw your post and replying with my experience.
I had a small lump found in screening. I had the biopsy but the tumour market wasn’t put in until just before my lumpectomy surgery.
xx
So sorry. ......Tingk is what I should have typed xx
Thank you for sharing your experience, It’s interesting to know you had it inserted later, after the biopsy.
hope all went well for you

Thank you for the links, definitely interesting. I’ll see if anyone else has information to share.
Hello,
I am doing so well now, thank you.
I had my marker put in the morning of my surgery. I was given a mammogram to show lesion. A Consultant Radiologist using ultrasound (after numbing area with local anaesthetic) inserted wire into middle of tumour. I then waited for them to look on X-ray that wire (which has a hook on it) was in the centre of the tumour. I then went to pre op to wait for my surgery. Thinking about it makes sense to have it before so doesn’t dislodge.
Wasn’t as bad as core biopsy xx
