Hello Rose65,
I am so sorry to hear your mum is back in hospital and I hope that they look after her well so that she is no longer in severe pain around her stoma and in the shoulder.
It might be worth your having a chat with your mum's medical team at the hospital and asking them what they think. They will be in the best position to tell you exactly what to expect although sometimes cancer can be very unpredictable.
Our nurses are also available any time you need to talk so if you have any questions, do give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
I hope your mum is in less pain soon. Let us know how things develop for her.
Hopefully others who have had a similar experience will be along soon to share their story with you.
Best wishes,
Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
Mum has had her chemo stopped as she quite frail and tumours have still grown so they feel she should not go on with it. She has stage 4 liver cancer, no other treatment has been offered except obviously pain relief. Does anyone have any experience of using alternative treatments, example mistletoe, i would be very interested in your views on these treatments, thanks kind regards Rose
