life after cancer

I had my lumpectomy last August then radiotherapy for 4wks I found I was in a lot of pain afterwards and got through this but now my shoulder permanently hurts if i move it a certain way and my arm also hurts. I was told that this may be lymphodemia but have had no help or support with this. I have called twice for help and heard but heard nothing back. I feel so scared about the future future and feel very weepy all the time. Has anyone else felt like this I feel so isolated.

  • Hi there ...

So sorry your still in a lot of pain .. did you have lymph nodes removed ... because that can take a long time to stop aching. . I still after 20 months still get funny aches and pains there ... and can't carry nothing heavy ...

If i were you I'd get a Drs appointment and have a word with them .. or have you got any breast cancer nurses .. I was given a number to contact mine if needed .. and I needed my masectomy non boob draining twice ... so don't leave it .. soonest seen, soonest sorted ... Chrissie x

  • Hi Chris

I had a lymph node removed and I have had two infections since my op.I have contacted my breast nurse twice now within two weeks who thinks it maybe lymphodemia and was referring to physio. I’ve still never heard anything back I am so tired and feeling very low I feel like I’ve been just sliced diced and just left to get on with it. I’ve made myself an appointment with my g.p so hopefully will get somewhere.I just want to get back to normality.
