No sure about sage, can you contact your oncologist through their secretary to ask? Yes to senokot though.
One thing about Letrozole (that I found out at the support group I attend) is that different brands can cause different/worse/less side effects. I've recently switched from Accord to Teva and my flushes have reduced and my joint pain is not quite as bad.
Hi
I use senokot and it really helps. I seem to have settled down a bit on Letrozole now nearly 2 and half months in. I do struggle with insomnia though which is a pain when I have to work.

I’m also on Letrozole and having awful hot flushes. I was recently advised to take Sage capsules but asked my breast care nurses before I bought any. She told me not to take them as they can increase you oestrogen which the Letrozole is trying to get out of your body. Not sure what to take to help the flushes now. Hope you found something.
Hi Brendaa, Ptt23, Harvell and Everleigh,
I am sorry to hear about the problems that you are all having on Letrozole. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 11 years and have taken Tamoxifen and Letrozole. I took Letrozole for 7 years and had a number of side-effects including horrendous night sweats. I contacted my breast care nurse, who was very helpful.
She first of all advised me to try different mamufacturers of Letrozole, the suggested taking it at night instead of in the morning. She then suggested medication used to reduce sweats in the menopause. She then advised that some people benefitted from using a low dose of an anti-depressant(Venlafaxine). Although I was very reluctant to venture down this path, I eventually had to. This hasn't stopped the sweats completely, but it has made a big difference.
Hope that this helps,
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
