I'm having mastectomy and reconstruction together, as doctor explained it to me is they taking away nipple but keeping shell of my breast and filling with fat/tissue from tummy...anyone else had this done??
my partner has just been told she will need a mastectomy and has been offered immediate reconstruction. Like you she will lose her nipple but they will be keeping the shell of the breast. They have offered her both implant and the tissue from her tummy.
Aftwr much debate she has elected the implant as on the face of it the recovery will be quicker.
