So scared of what they will find...

I've just been diagnosed with breast cancer her2 and although the outlook appears good, I'm so scared that they'll find it's worse than expected. I feel like the 14th February is so far away and worried my cancer will have spread. I'm terrified of the wait, fear and uncertainty but I know there is nothing more I can do but wait. I also have breast pain, can this happen as I thought it was meant to be painless...

  • Hi Lindajb,

I can completely understand your worry, it's only natural to feel uncertain as you wait for treatment. Breast pain is quite common and it may or may not be related to your diagnosis, so the best thing to do is let your doctor know. It might feel like a long way away, but the 14th February will be here quicker than you think, so try not to worry. It great to hear that the outlook appears good.

I hope it goes well next week.

  • Thanks Anastasia. I am coping quite well but the fear it comes in waves and can be so overwhelming and you feel so lonely and isolated. I'm meeting a friend of a friend tomorrow who had breast cancer but hers was much more aggressive and she fought it and won. I think it might help me get through the next week. Thanks for your reply, it's nice to know someone is listening and cares xx
