Transitional Cell Carcinoma

Hi All.

I am new to the site and just want to start off by saying you guys are all an inspiration and I hope you are all cured from this terrible illness

My father who is 80 and in relative good health has recently been diagnosed with Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the left kidney. The growth is 2.4cm and contained within the kidney.

The surgeon has advised that he needs to remove the kidney and ureter to be on the safe side, in a procedure known as radical nephroureterectomy.

I was wondering whether anyone on here who is of similar age has been through this or knows of someone that has been through this. As you can appreciate this is a very difficult time for our family and therefore it would be nice to hear of your experiences to help my father going into this operation.

Many Thanks

Paul
