Cancer burns on lips

Hi

I've recently had my last chemo session. And have started few days back with what I thought was cold sore on outside but going inside my lip...went to see a pharmacist she said it was a cancer burn. Has anyone had these before and how did you treat as quite painful and keep catching it when talking?

  • A big congratulations on your last chemo session Dannii although I'm sorry about the burns you're experiencing on your lips.

    Hopefully some of our members who have experiences of this will reply soon to share their tips and advice but I'm going to try and put you in touch with [@PinkElf]‍ as they were posting about a similar issue last year so fingers crossed they'll pop back to share their words of wisdom with you now I've mentioned them in this post.

    Do be sure to let your medical team know about this as well as they will ultimately be in the best position to advise on how to manage it.

    Thank you for replying. I eventually went to my GP who has given me antibiotics tablets to take as she thought was cold sore that had got infected. Been on them 4 days now and fingers crossed it seems to be clearing up!
