Today marks a 2 month wait from my follow up CT scan to see if they have gotten all the cancer.  My phone call review which will be my first ever was due tomorrow morning at 9am , I’ve just received a phone call from the appointments department to cancel the appointment due to the Dr being ill they said they will try and make another appointment before Christmas.  I can’t contain my upset and anger towards something like this because it is such an important thing to me, has anyone else had this happen?

    Hi Dannii

    i would make an appointment to see your own doctor and ask them if they can find out for you. They have access to hospital records and should also be sent details of all your results. Don’t be put off and don’t give up. Medics are very busy and may unintentionally forget you. It’s up to you to make sure they remember you. Good luck.

    I am planning on going to my GP tomorrow morning, I’ve just turned 30 and have 2 beautiful children and this has affected my life dramatically due to now suffering depression.  None of my follow ups were done correctly well I feel anyway! I don’t know the stage or grade of my cancer that was removed basically the surgeon when he reviewed me at 4 weeks said “yeah was cancer, CT scan in 2 months” and got up and walked out of the room!

    Hi Dannii

     

    i hope all goes well at the doctor. I can understand that you feel depressed, especially as you’re so young. Hopefully, your doctor will be able to tell you more. The fact that the surgeon seemed so dismissive should mean that you are not in any danger and that they were happy with your recovery, etc. I think the nurses on this site might be able to help you too.
