Letrozole Dosage

Aged 74 I had a mastectomy 21 months ago having been diagnosed with triple negative apocrine cancer. I refused both chemo and radio. I am so lucky to have been my usual fit and healthy self so far. However my hair has really thinned out. I think this is due to the Letrozole. As I weigh under 9 stone I am puzzled that one dosage fits all. Should I be on the same dosage as someone weighing a lot more than me taking body mass and absorbtion into consideration? Would a reduction help the hair loss? Thanks.

  • Hi there ..

I'm a Brest lass too .. mastectomy last year .. all I've had is tamoxifen.. as it's a bit kinder to bones then yours ...  high 5 to you doing well so far ...

Sorry I've no idea about dosage as wer just like you, average people with cancer, or caring for someone ..if I were you I'd give the nurses a ring on here or McMillan... they are really good ... I talked to them a couple of times ... May be you could ask about tamoxifen, as I've had no hair problems on it .. just emotional for a few weeks ..

Well here's to you kicking cancers butt , down this journey of ours ... I think at our age quality over quantity is the order of the day ... and I'm doing pretty good 14 months on ...
