Hysterectomy after endometrial cancer diagnosis

It’s been a real rollercoaster couple of months for me and my family.

After going to my GP with the most insignificant spotting post menopausal, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Now five weeks after diagnosis I came home yesterday from my total hysterectomy. I’ve got to wait three weeks for the results to see if I need anymore treatment but I still feel in shock that this has happened to me.

  • Hi hells. Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Hang in there. This so called "journey" is a tough one with so many ups and downs. Concentrate on recovering from op and enjoying having time to yourself and your family take care of you. One day at a time. It's such a hard part - the waiting game. But you're now on the radar and in the system so that's a really good thing. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have an op and wait for results to see what next step is. Keep going and one day and one thing at a time. You got this!

Life has thrown a curveball and the flow of your life has changed so just go with the flow. Slow down and spend amazing time with family. Do things you enjoy but keep it simple and not too exhausting. It is tough but you're gonna do okay.x
