Cold or Hayfever

Hi, im currently 4 treatments off completing my course of chemo for Hodgkins Lymphoma. I am neutrapenic (not sure how to spell it). Last week i got a sore throat and i got it checked by a doctor at the hospital and they wasnt worried, however the past two days iv got a runny nose. I have been moitoring my temperature pretty much every 15 minutes and i have not spiked a temperature once and my snot is clear not green. Shouldni be worried, could i just have hayfever. My mom is calm i just dont want to die tbh. Im just 18 btw

    I hope u will fine soon dont worry all of this is normal your sore throat and the low grade of wbc all of this is the side effect of chemo when ur wbc is 1 u have to take neupogen ( filgrastim) and if u have a fever 38.5 u have to go to hospital to make it down and take antibiotics by veins cause it mean that u take an infections because of your love grade of neutrophils, ur sore throat ur doc may give u mycostatin and miconez

    Hi Sophie,

    I am sorry you are going through this at such a young age! I think you should go by what the hospital doctor said and what your mom thinks. Get your rest and try to relax; stress just makes things worse, I think.  Of course, keep track of your temp and if you continue to feel bad or get worse, go back to the doctor.
