  • Hi,

i was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in may. Story a bit different to you and have just had my 5th round of chemo yesterday. It appears to be working. I have taken cannabis oil religiously since around June time so sometimes I wonder if it’s the chemo working or the oil or both. Either way I still take it and something is working. Keep on fighting this and I wish you all the best xx

  • P.s my hairdresser father was diagnosed terminal last year with a few months to live. He takes the oil religiously and is still here over 12 months later with no other treatment. I guess it depends on the individual but I think is cancer sufferers are willing to try anything x

  • Hello Tershin,

Welcome to Cancer Chat and I am glad you have already received a warm welcome from Dizzle82 and I hope you will soon hear from others who are in a similar situation and are living with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. It helps sometimes to talk to others who are going through the same and our vibrant community is there to offer you support and simply to chat at any time.

It's great that you are keeping active and seem in such good spirits. To answer your question, I think you need to talk to your medical team about wanting to use cannabis oil, or any other complementary treatment, before using it. You may find this page on our science blog interesting as well as Nurse Celene's comments on the subject on this thread.

If you would like to talk to our nurses further about your treatment options, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 (Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm).

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Hi, and welcome to the chatty forum.  Living daily with stage 4 lung cancer but it's my husband,  not me..  Diagnosis 18 months ago, 6% chance given after chemo and radiotherapy, he attained 60% shrinkage so everyone is different .  Just fight your own corner,  do what's best for you and yes, live your life as well as possible.   I read my daily posts from last year and can't believe how far we have come.  So take care and warmest wishes for many more days to come.  Carol
