Trying to drink but if anything goes near my back teeth I get severe shooting pains in teeth and gums. I tried one cherry yesterday and same happened. A cup of tea is about the only drink I can manage, will this pain go away?

Can I ask if what you drinking/eating is cold? Chemo envariably doesn’t like cold things, it felt like shards of glass going down my throat when I tried cold stuff. Stick to room temperature things or hot drinks.
Hope this helps
take care
hi Dave just looked at a previous post of yours with the chemo you on and it’s the same as what I had so I’m pretty sure you getting similar side effects to what I had, try stay away from cold things. I also had to use gloves to get anything out the fridge or freezer as it hurt my fingers too
Hello JB. Accidentally forgot and had a cold drink, this really was painful and seems to have triggered off something. I even ate a cherry which was not cold and that hurts too. Trying to stick to hot drinks, but I’m gadding to slake my thirst, tea doesn’t touch the spot! Thanks for reply. David
I know what you mean, for me unfortunately it didn’t get better until I stopped the drugs. I find it hard to drink Luke warm water and was also thirsty all the time. Suck boiled sweets it helped me

Cheers. Have been trying mints. David
