c.u.p cancer

hi folks, i was diagnosed in january with stage 4 ovarian secondary cancer with unknown primary, i had surgery for total hysterectomy in february and have since been going through tests to find the primary cancer ( none found so far ) i went for a PET scan yesterday so waiting on the results, im due to go in for further surgery in august and then onto chemotherapy but if they dont find the primary cancer they wont know the right chemotherapy to use and as it was attactched to my ovary there guessing ovarian chemo, has anyone else been in this situation and how did you cope

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Lilly although I'm really sorry to read about your situation.

I can't begin to imagine how difficult this must be for you right now but I just wanted to let you know you are not alone. Many members here on the forum have been in similar situations and now that I've replied I'm sure some of them will reply soon to offer their support but I wanted to put you in touch with [@Deann71]‍, [@Velvet]‍ and [@BevC]‍ as they have experience of stage 4 ovarian cancer as well as [@Duchie]‍ as her dad had cancer of an unknown primary so may be able to offer some insight on how they coped with it on their journey.

I hope the primary cancer is found so you are able to have the right chemotherapy Lilly. I will have everything crossed for the results of your PET scan and will be sending good wishes your way for your surgery in August.

    Kind regards,

  • I'm so sorry to hear that Lily.

I do hope the chemo is able to shrink what's left and give you more time.

I know there isn't anything I can say or do to make this any better but I want you to know that we are here for you whenever you need us.

    Kind regards,
