Anyone been taken off long-term zoladex, despite (likely) still Oestrogen receptor positive breast cancer and probably not yet in natural menopause?
Any problems coming off it? Irritability, mood swings, etc.

Hello Zamberlan42,
I hope you will meet others on this forum who have also been taken off Zoladex after taking it long term and that they will be along soon to share with you whether they encountered any problems when they came off it. Has your doctor advised you to stop this treatment? It might be a good idea to ask your medical team whether there are common reported effects from coming off Zoladex. I am sure they will be able to advise you on this.
Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 if you want to ask them anything so don't hesitate to give them a call.
I hope it all goes well for you, do drop us a line to let us know how you get on!
Best wishes,

Hi,
I was on Zoladex for two years for prostate cancer. It was a very good treatment for me and helped along with radiotherapy to reduce my psa from a high of 70 to 3.5 even before I started the radiotherapy.
But I did have side effect while on it like hot flushes and weight gain.
When I finnished it my consultant told me it would take about a year for it to flush out of my system but I feel It could have been longer as I was still getting hot flushes for up to 5 years after stopping treatment
Hope things improve quickly, Brian
