Metastatic Cervical Cancer

Hi. I do not know from what to start... I am 44, 2b Cervical cancer was diagnosed in 2016, went through chemo, radio and brachotherapy. Everything was fine till December 2017, when in CT scan they found metastasis on my lungs. Doctors said it is not curable and offered chemo ( Carboplatin + Paclitaxel + Bevacizumab ) to stop this process. I am very afraid of chemo, it not gonna treat me. It will damages all my good cells and i will be down. At the moment i feel almost perfect, i have active lifestyle, healthy food. I think it is pointless to treat just one part of your body, have to treat all your body, how i see from my 1st experience when doctors was looking just after my cervix, even scan was done just for my pelvis. But unfortunately cancer is moving and everyone knows that. I was waiting for immuntherapy, but that trial on hold...2 weeks ago second scan shows possible metastasis in my liver and lung metastasis growed by 0.1 mm. To be honest i do not know what to do. I feel well, no symptoms. Maybe someone  has similar expierence? Thank you!!!

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Ruslata although I'm sorry to read that your cancer has metastasised to your liver and lungs.

We have some general information about Carboplatin, Paclitaxel and Bevacizumab on our website but if you're afraid of having the chemo and the possible side effects you may experience it may be a good idea to sit down with your medical team to discuss your concerns and why you're scared. They will then be able to talk this through with you and hopefully put your mind at ease. You can also have a general chat about your situation with our cancer nurses next week if you like? They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040 so do give them a call if you think discussing this with them will help.

I think some of our members have had experience with some of these types of chemo and hopefully the ones that have will reply soon to share their experiences and advice.

    Kind regards,
