Hi Ya :)

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on the 23rd December 2015, just a few weeks, after my very first Mammogram, at the age of 51.

Nobody had Breast Cancer in my family before, so I wouldn't get it! Wrong x Stage 3 too, not greedy either :D x lol x My tumour was right behind my left nipple. Anyways, after everything, I had a partial mastectomy on my left breast. When it was healing, it looked like a muppets mouth x lol x My boob, so I can laugh at it x lol x .Sorry x

Went through the usual Chemotherapy, lost my long hair, and then Radiotherapy and now on Hormone Tablets. I take everyday as it comes, because if I hadn't attednded that Mammogram, I wouldn't be here typing this. You know, this is true, I almost didn't. I was working, it was a horrible winter afternoon, in late November 2015, and I had to drive 26 miles, in that miserable weather. I'm so glad I did. Because I was having my first operation on the 6th January 2016. God Bless The N.H.S.

So  after a year off work, I returned to work. ........AND ENJOYING LIFE  xXx...

  • Hiya Jaffacake2. I noticed you hadn't had a reply yet so I thought I'd just stop by to offer you a very warm welcome to the forum :)

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It's always nice to read a story with a positive outcome and I'm sure it'll give many of our members who are either just starting or are in the middle of their treatment a lot of strength and encouragement as they embark on their own journeys.

You'll find quite a few of our regular breast cancer ladies posting on the good and the bad thread so do have a look and if you feel like it, join in. They're very welcoming and I'm sure they'd love to meet you.

I look forward to seeing you around the forum soon.

    Kind regards,
