Stage 4 BC survival. Any tip from women who make ten years?

Reading all these posts and feeling heartened to hear survival stories. I have advanced BC spread to bone and lymph. Does anyone have any tips? ...How many of you survivors for example have gone extreme with your eating/organic/juices/vegan etc? Why is it that in USA all of that is part of treatment but here Doctors say it makes little difference? What are your secrets ladies...?

    Hi Doda,

A very warm welcome to Cancer Chat.

I am sorry to hear about your advanced breast cancer. My mum had breast cancer for 12 years, before it metatasised into brain, bone, liver and lungs. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer myself. The first was 8 years ago and the second was 7, so I haven't quite reached the ten years yet, but I'm getting close to it.

Neither my mum nor I ate any specific foods to boost our immune systems. We always ate  sensible well proportioned home cooked meals. The one exception that I have made is that I suffer from a dry mouth with all of the medication I'm on. To try and help this I drink copious amounts of freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice, which give me plenty of vitamin C.

Do you take any special measures yourself?

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
