LDN and CBD interaction

Started using LDN a few weeks ago, and this seems to be helping - ovarian cancer.

Considering whether to use CBD simultaneously.

Any advice?

  • Hi Romans828 and welcome to the forum.

As far as our cancer nurses are aware, LDN is not being used in any UK cancer treatment centres and is not a recognised standard treatment for cancer. We would recommend that you discuss your use of LDN and any other alternative therapy options with your medical team as they can be dangerous, having not been tested in the same way as conventional treatments, and may even interfere with them.

When you say CBD I'm not sure if you are referring to cannabis oil or hemp (CBD) oil. If you are referring to the former, I need to let you know that it is illegal in the UK as it contains the mind altering substance THC. Hemp (CBD) oil is available in places such as Holland & Barrett but again I must emphasise the importance of discussing this with your team first due to the possible side effects it could have.

We have a rather useful post explaining the differences between the two types of CBD just here as well as a rather interesting blog post which shows that although research is on-going there is still little in the way of evidence to suggest that cannabinoids can effectively or safely treat cancer patients.

    Kind regards,
