R-CHOP chemo success?

I am now (finally) 2 weeks away from my final and 6th R-CHOP chemo for NHL.

I'd be interested in hearing from others on the success of R-CHOP.

I've been told that there's a chance that the 6 cycles won't be enough and I'll have to have 2 additional cycles - though this won't be known until the PET scan after cycle 6.

Anybody got experience of success or requiring more cycles?

Thanks!
Emily

  • Hi Emily how is everything going with the treatment.

  • Hi [@Coffindodger]‍ !

It's going OK - ups and downs, as you might imagine, but I'm so relieved only (hopefully) to have one left. Even that I'm dreading to be honest, but it has to be done.

I just dread the fact that in many cases, R-CHOP doesn't work and I may need more or different treatment - this is going to pose so many issues - not least for my work abroad. I'm so nervous!

    Hope all well with you?

  • Hi Emily

Glad to hear your doing ok,  yeah I hated the ups and downs. You have came this far and to get your last one is good news. I'm doing good it's nearly a year ago in may on my birthday I had my last chemo session and the test results are coming back good so far.

I get very nervous when I'm waiting at the hospital after my tests to see what my results are. I'm enjoying everything I have and have a different prospective on life and trying new things, somebody told me you only live once.
