R chop chemo

Hi

My mum is having r chop chemotherapy treatment at the moment. She is 78 and has had 2 of her 8 treatments. She was admitted to hospital because she was having chest pains and breathlessness.  They did lots of tests and decided that it was down to side effects of the chemo. Is this normal?

She has completely lost her appetite. She is just drinking chocolate milkshake. Any ideas of anything we can try? I know there are a lot if things she can't have.

Thanks

Jan

  • Hello Jan.

I'm sorry to hear that your Mum is struggling with side effects from her treatment.

I wondered if you might find it helpful to speak to one of the nurses here about the questions you've raised. They may be able to provide you with some further information and advice. You can either post in our Ask the Nurses topic area or alternatively you can call them on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).

Best wishes to you and to Mum.
