Stage 4 ca prostate Gleason score 8

Dear members

hello everyone my father who is 69 has been diagnosed with advanced ca prostate with bony mets .He has just completed 6 cycles of chemo and has become exhausted even simple voluntary movements such sitting and standing trying to go to toilet he is finding it very difficult. Is there anything we could do to help him also anyone had similar experiences plz can some guide

  • Hi there ... sorry i havnt had chemo, but from listening to every one, think they nearly all get that feeling of no enery and painfull joints ... and at 69 the ol bones arnt as strong as they used to be .. so all id say is give him lots of T L C and sitting chatting or a ride in the car to get some fresh air if hes up to it .. maybe a gentle hand or foot massage might make him feel a little better ...

Hope you get other ones on here with more practical help ... but here's hoping he slowly recovers bit by bit .. baby steps are good ... Chrissie x

  • Hi

i am nearly simuler to your father except I am Gleason 9, I ve been through all the treatments, they are very taxing on the body even now 14. Months after I get tired just walking up the stairs.

He will gain a little more strength in time, it's to soon after the Meds, his energy will be drained, like Chrisse has said he will just need help for a time and excercise is important so his muscles do not cramp up.

Hope he pulls through its a strain on everyone concerned but with some help I am sure things will get better.

    take care

    Joe
