What to eat on pcv regime

My husband has started pcv treatment for Glioblastoma which involves taking procarbazine tabs for 10 days. He has restricted diet whilst taking this and for 10 days after. We were given a table of foods to avoid etc, but it is not very informative. We are struggling as to what he can have with regards to meals.

Does anyone have any experience of this and can give us some ideas.

It is starting to get him down and he will be losing weight at this rate.

  • Hello.  I think many people (but not all) who post on here are running round trying to do last minute Christmas things so I thought I would respond to you.  (Not that I should be here either, I have things that I should have done already!)  Let me honest from the start, I know nothing about procarbazine but I took a few minutes to try to find some information.  I realise you may have already done this.  The MacMillan website has a page about it as does cancernet which I also think is pretty reliable.  It is as you say, there is a lot of telling you what to avoid but there is some information about what is okay and what should be safe in small quantities.  I know you are looking for someone with personal experience of managing a diet in these circumstances.  I just didn't want you to think that nobody had the time to reply to you today.  My best wishes to you.

  • Thankyou Annieliz for replying especially at this busy time. We are going away to relatives on Boxing Day so knowing what he can eat is even more of a problem. There are sites with more info but a lot of them seem to contradict each other! Anyway, thanks for looking x
