Living with Stage 4 Breast Cancer.

Hi there. I am wondering if there's anyone out there who, like me, is living with Stage 4 breast cancer?

It would be good to be in contact with other people who are living with this disease.

In July 2011 I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma which was already widespread throughout both lungs and liver.

I would be interested to talk to anyone else who finds themselves in a similar position and who, despite the difficult prognosis, is determined to keep as fit as possible, access all medical treatment and eat well.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Mary

  • Hi good to meet you as well, I forgot shelly went on holiday over the weekend sometimes my head full of cotton wool,, well that's my excuse anyway,., I'd love to celebrate, where's the party,., best wishes... Billy

  • Hi Mare

Good to hear from you, I found your post from 2 years ago and so glad to hear you are going strong and an inspiration for us all. I've just joined and got my diagnosis on Tuesday so waiting for chemo dates etc. Quite scary but being brave x

  • Hi Mich8,

Thank you, but I'm not alone, there are more and more people surviving with cancer than ever before.

I do like to chat though, as you can see ;)

Good luck with the Chemo. It is scary yes, but if you look at it as killing the enemy then you may even embrace it (can't find a wincing face on here...)

I am sure you'll get through it. If it helps you to talk then this site is very helpful too.

Good to hear from you too Mich

and, Billy - the party will be at my house when my kids and grandkids finally move out!! lol! :D

  • Hi Mare

Thank you and yes I see there are a lot of us on here and all so supportive! I'm glad I signed up rather than googling everything!

I'm still waiting for my appointments, I have another ultrasound on Tuesday and a implant clip thing, I think! I still need appointment with the oncology nurse. Guess they will all come in at once, just like buses eh.

I have no plans for the weekend so going to chill with friends and relax.

    Enjoy your weekend x

  • Hi Mare, I'm  Shellbell10, just call me Shelly. Glad you've joined the forum, I think it's great, made a few lovely friends. [@Billygoat]‍ and [@marj58]‍

They are lovely, Billy is my sugar daddy , he cheers me up. You can get lots of info off real people not google. I had bc 10 years ago, had mastectomy and lymph nodes removed, cancer was in some nodes. Then 3 years ago I started with pain in my ribs, 2 years ago I was dx with sbc in my bones, liver and omental layer. Just started paclitaxel today, so have to see how it goes. I have to admit I am not very positive, I'm finding it hard this time as my onc has just told me there's no more treatment for me after this one, I'm 47. I've got ascites also, had it drained 2 weeks ago 10 litres and it's come straight back.

Anyway sorry to be a misery, need Billy to cheer me up. Take care, love Shelly.xxx

  • Try how to chear you up with hubby there he might object especially if I'm giving you are really gentle cuddle maybe when you're not in pain and tender we can try again, glad your back but not the reason your back, hope all goes smoothly, best wishes, love... Billy

  • You just cheer me up anyway Billy. My little sugar daddy.

Anyway I'm off to bed, goodnight Billybob, take care and speak tomorrow.

    lots of love and Shelly.xxx

  • Hi Shelly how are you feeling darling. Try to stay positive, I just read your message to Mare. I see you started. Started the  Paclitxal bless you. I hope it isn’t going to be too bad darling. Please please. Do me a favour. Just keep your eye on side affects. No matter how big or small they are. Most of all do not ignore them. I am not trying to scare you in anyway at   You know Billy and I had the docitaxel. Also the side affects. I have told you I think Billy would agree, docitaxel is one nasty nasty drug. However it bloody works. I only say this Shelly because with them both being of the same family of drugs. I just want you to make sure any side affects you let them know ASAP ok darling. My mouth was absolutely full of ulcers. Don’t you suffer, they have quite a lot of stuff they can give you to help. Oh no dozy cow here. Just bought my own mouth was etc. I didn’t really mention them, I was lucky my best friend bring here one day. She just happened to mention if they knew of a really good mouth wash that could help the ulcers. I was still using corsydol. It what I had used for years. I got told to stop it instantly, bring one of the strongest ones on the market. It was too harsh. They gave my hubby a prescription for mouth wash and toothpaste. Both where brilliant but so mild. They gave me a script for something else, wracking my brain to think what it called. Anyhow if you do get any ask them don’t do a me. This other stuff was a bit gooy but you. Had a brush to put it on a really soft brush, surprisingly it wasn’t messy you use it after the mouthwash. It puts a lining on your tongue. Also where ever else you put it like the inside of your cheeks. It acted like a barrier cream. I hope and pray you do not need it. It was after my second one I I had of docitaxel. That they came thick and fast. Not sure if Billy had anything like that I forgot to ask him. Anyhow did, you manage to get a copy of the book i recommended. I do hope do I really want to know what you thought.i will give you the the details again, honestly.

I am still thinking it’s actually based on truth. Every word. I know she says it fictional. Yet when she says it was based on a police investigation of operation yewtree. First of all that in itself contradicts its self. I do get what they where trying to say. It’s just in my opinion. Whoever wrote the description for advertising it. Used bad English. Untouchables by Sybil Hodge. I can’t remember if you you said if you use a kindle or not. Because I think it’s only 99p on kindle. If you not you could download the kindle app onto your phone and get it that way if you don’t mind reading it on a phone. Actually if you joined the kindle 30 day trial. Sign up for it from amazon and you can read a few. Just remember to cancel if you decide you don’t want to keep it. That’s what i did but I kept it.if you decided to do the same i have thousands of books I could recommend. I just had a quick look at how it was worded ltd been changed. I guess quite a few people where reviewing the book same as myself. Anyhow it’s definitely been altered to perhaps either stop thinking it was factual. Or it’s the only way she could actually write the book as true one. However I do not think it would have gone into print if she actually said it was a true story. Her or anyone would also be putting their lives at risk it’s now decribed as it being inspired by a real life police investigation. I don’t think it says of you tree, either. Shelly, you know what Billy told you about me not just sending a message he said it was like a book. I meant, longish like this one is to you. Ha ha ha.  You know I had a sneaky suspicion that Bilygoat was your sugar daddy l. Just be careful you two. I wouldn’t mention it to anyone else. Wouldn’t like your hubby and Brenda finding out. Ha ha ha lol

so Here go I blasting it a public forum lol. Just like you did l.

Let my know how you are getting on with the the new drug. Ps why can they not try you on immunotherapy.. ??????. I was tried on it and my cancers that where visible, had responded to it. I didn’t think to ask about it if it was responding in my blood. Lots of love Marj xxxx going to have a word now with your sugar daddy lol xxx
