Hi Pippih,
I see that this is your first post, so a very warm welcome to Cancer Chat.
I have breast cancer, so I don’t have much knowledge of inserting a stent to your lung. I do know that this is a fairly common procedure. I am not a medic, so cannot really comment further, I just wanted to wish you all the best for tomorrow and hope that it all goes well.
If you want to find out more before tomorrow try the search engine on the blue banner, at the top of this page. Add your key words and click the button and this will bring up previous posts on the subject.
You will presumably be under anaesthetic for the operation, so you’ll know nothing about it. I’m not sure how long the recuperation is, but you will see your surgeon before surgery tomorrow. Make sure to ask him before he operates on you. He should already have explained what the procedure involves and what your recuperation is likely to be.
Please stay in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here whenever you want to talk.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx

Hello Pippih and thanks for your post
I'm one of the nurses and one of our moderators asked if we would like to respond to you.
A bronchoscopy is a test which involves looking at your breathing tubes and lungs.Your doctor can see any areas that look abnormal and take samples (biopsies) to test. You can read more about this here.
Most people can have this procedure under local anaesthetic and are able to go home the same day. Very occasionally some people may need to have a general anaesthetic and you can read more about this here.
It is a straightforward procedure for the doctor to perform. You may experience a sore throat for a few days after the procedure.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Celene
